Nelson Veras

Guitare

Nelson Veras is a highly regarded Brazilian jazz guitarist born in Salvador de Bahia in 1977, who has been based in France since 1992. Often nicknamed “the little prince of the guitar,” he gained early recognition after being featured in a film alongside Pat Metheny at the Marciac Jazz Festival.

Veras is acclaimed for his distinctive and highly technical style, which seamlessly incorporates techniques from classical guitar with advanced rhythmic concepts like intricate pulse divisions and the use of limited transposition modes. A prolific collaborator, he has shared the stage with jazz legends such as Michel Petrucciani, Gary Peacock, Lee Konitz, Steve Coleman, and Magic Malik.
