Joachim Badenhorst & Brice Soniano

25 years of music together - now on a new adventure !

Brice and Joachim started to play is way back to when they met and studied at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in The Hague. 
Their collaboration is most prominently featured in their duo Rawfishboys.

ORIGINS OF RAWFISHBOYS

The “Rawfishboys” name comes from their shared love of Japanese sushi and comic strips. They conceived of themselves as a sort of anti-hero or “weird mutants” who play weird instruments and make strange sounds, inspired by cartoons like Batman or Superman. They went on for about 20 years and 4 albums like that. Now they are real men. They might turn into Rawfish(old)boys later. But this is too early to say.
The duo’s core strength is their improvisational depth and their ability to blend compositional structure with acoustic originality. Their music is a “fantastic cluster” of very melodic music and very experimental or avant-garde textural works. Their style is noted for combining “silence and noise, contemplation and frenzy, all woven into a sophisticated tapestry”.
