“Orytmi is a collective founded in the autumn of 2002 at the initiative of Toma Gouband and Benoît Delbecq. It brings together four major artists from the jazz and improvisation scene and sees them sharing their concepts and practices, particularly their reliance on graphic notation of their own design. Starting as an informal workshop, the music found its magic by being nourished by the mutual transmission of each other’s inventions, thus giving birth to a formation of striking originality.”

Polyrhythms incorporate numerical and chromatic formulas that can generate a diversity of forms, timbres, and melodies. They also represent the expression of the coexistence of intertwined speeds and cycles, present across all dimensions of the universe.
