The story of Astropi began in 2005 when a collective of visionary artists in Loire Atlantique, France claimed to have detected frequencies from an undiscovered celestial body—a planet vibrating with extraordinary musical expressions. What started as a creative hypothesis evolved thoughtfully over time, restructuring in 2020 to become both a production company and independent label dedicated to bringing these extraterrestrial compositions to Earth.
Our founders, Toma Gouband and Brice Soniano, serve as the primary translators of these cosmic transmissions. Their journey to Cameroon and experiences with the Baka community further enhanced their receptivity to these interstellar frequencies, inspiring them to develop improvisational and playful approaches that could faithfully represent the music of this imaginary world.
